We’re so proud of all that the Ma’at Program has accomplished in Year One, a year where it was more important than ever for Black/African American children, youth, and families in San Francisco to have access to Afri-centric, whole-person wellness services.
With the help of Ma’at program staff and clients, our external evaluator has completed a comprehensive first year evaluation report.
Key findings from the report include the following:
519 Ma’at Program participants received Afri-centric, whole-person wellness services
3,048 outreach and community engagement activities were performed by Ma’at Program staff and outreach increased dramatically from April to June 2020, during COVID-19.
95% of Ma’at staff reported that, for their clients, having a therapist or service provider of African descent is extremely meaningful
HCN is proud to be a leading provider in Black mental health services. We look forward to continuing and extending our services to more children and families during year two and beyond.
