Job Description:
Homeless Children’s Network is a leading provider of trauma-informed behavioral health and wellness services to Black/African American families in San Francisco. Our community-based non-profit organization provides mental health services and support to children and families who are homeless or at-risk. Our programs are unique in their Afri-centric approach in both service provision and infrastructure. We are growing rapidly, and seeking a hands-on Development and Communications Director for a key leadership role in our organization. This position is best suited for a highly motivated individual with the energy and experience to oversee day-to-day operations of the Development and Communications department as well as contribute to the strategic vision of the agency as a whole. This person will be an integral part of the HCN leadership team, reporting to HCN’s Executive Director.
This position is full-time with excellent benefits. A flexible schedule may be available. During the pandemic, the position is fully remote. Once it is safe to return, this position will be full time in-office in San Francisco.
Responsibilities include:

Leading the planning, organizing, and directing all of HCN’s fundraising including, public funding, foundation and corporate grants, individual giving and events. The Director works closely with the Executive Director and reports regularly to the Board of Directors.

Managing a dynamic, growing team including the full time Grants Manager, Development and Communications Associate and contractors who support grant writing, public relations, events and other projects.

Developing and applying a deep understanding of HCN’s programs to effectively tell our story to funders, donors, and others in the community.

Working with the Grants Manager to research, write and submit LOIs, proposals and reports. Hands on writing is a part of this position, as well as overseeing the larger picture of institutional support.

Collaborating with the Finance Department to produce proposal budgets and financial reports.
-
Exercising sound judgment and initiative in identifying and cultivating additional institutional prospects.
-
Communicating regularly with the various program departments to remain updated on program developments and update institutional funders and prospects on the organization’s work, accordingly.

Working with the development and communications teams to increase supporters’ and community awareness of HCN’s impact and programs through newsletters, fundraising collateral, and ongoing development of messaging and branding.

Overseeing HCN’s online presence. This includes website updates and working with the Development and Communications Associate on the newsletter and social media such as the HCN blog, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other channels.

Working with development and administrative staff to update and maintain institutional donor records.

Maintaining currency and regularly sharing knowledge of relevant local and national trends and opportunities in philanthropy.
Qualifications:
-
At least 8-10 years of direct or comparable experience, with recent leadership experience in nonprofit grant-writing, fundraising, and institutional development.

Superb writing, communications, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Highly organized and motivated, able to multitask, take initiative, and have excellent time management skills.

Broad and strategic mindset, with creative aptitude and effective use of independent judgment.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility and resilience in a high-pressure work environment.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and prior nonprofit employment required.

Experience working with a CRM database management is a plus.

Job Description:
Homeless Children’s Network is a leading provider of trauma-informed behavioral health services to Black/African American families in San Francisco and the hub for a network of 50+ community-based organizations and agencies citywide. We provide whole person mental health and family support to more than 2000 children and families who are homeless or at-risk. Our boldly Afri-centric approach is built into every aspect of our work from service design to infrastructure, program delivery, community building and healing.
HCN is growing rapidly. As Development and Communications Coordinator, you will have an exciting opportunity to have a big influence in a highly regarded organization making a major impact in the community. Working closely with the Director and small Development and Communications team, key program staff, and external vendors, you will facilitate development and marketing activities across the organization with a focus on creating original content for and managing HCN’s social media, website, and blog, development newsletter and other marketing collateral. You will also play a role in fundraising events coordination and supporting annual and individual giving.

Frequent activities in this role may include, but are not limited to:
Marketing and Communications (60%):

Developing and applying deep understanding of HCN’s programs and your own lived experience to effectively tell our story to funders, donors, community supporters, and allies.

Managing the content, production, and delivery of HCN’s monthly newsletter, including maintaining up-to-date and segmented mailing lists.

Creating impactful, timely, and accurate content and posting on HCN’s website, blog and multiple social media platforms.

Tracking social media, website, and email marketing analytics, identifying trends, recommending and implementing strategies for increasing active engagement and conversions from supporters to donors.

Development (25%):

Ensuring that individual and institutional gift acknowledgments are timely and meaningful, and accurately documented in the donor records management system.

Contributing to successful achievement of the team’s financial goals for individual giving campaigns through the creation, production, and delivery of compelling email, print, and social media messaging.

Planning and coordinating creative in-person and online events for donors and supporters.
Administration (15%):

Using donor tracking protocols and related organizational systems with high accuracy and consistency.

Providing administrative support to the Development and Communications Director and to the department overall.
Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

5-7 years of professional or volunteer experience demonstrating skills and accomplishments that are transferable to this role. These include:

Deep understanding of the causes, manifestations, and impacts of racism on Black/African American children and families, preferably in San Francisco or the Bay Area, acquired through experience and/or formal education.

Highly compelling storytelling, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to adapt the style and format for different audiences and organizational needs.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from design to completion, meet deadlines, produce high quality deliverables, coordinate with and across teams, and change course, as needed, in a demanding work environment.

High level of proficiency using online platforms to create and execute timely messaging and successful campaigns, as well as marketing and development tools for donor management (Donor Perfect preferred), email marketing (Mailchimp or other), content management (Wix or other), and project management (such as Trello).

Description:
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the quality of services provided by HCN staff in the Ma’at program, with a reciprocal and circular model for collaboration among a network of community partners. The Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical supervision and clinical documentation support. The Clinical Supervisor provides weekly Individual and Group Supervision to child and family mental health services staff. The Clinical Supervisor monitors clinical documentation and provides input, in coordination with the Clinical Director and Quality Assurance Director in clinical policies and procedures. Must be two years post-licensure as LCSW/LMFT/LPCC/Psychologist and have completed the required course in Clinical Supervision.

The Ma'at Program is a supportive holistic therapeutic community, in which we center and work with African American/Black Families in San Francisco.

Interim Program Director
About the Interim Program Director Position:
This position is responsible for contract compliance, personnel management and writing all program reports. The Program Director provides support and supervision to clinical staff, Clinical Director, Quality Assurance Director and other staff as assigned. The Program Director serves as a bridge between direct service and administrative functions within the agency, in addition to serving as a liaison for communication among collaborative members. The Program Director interfaces with the San Francisco Department of Public Health and other funders, and attends all required meetings, trainings and conferences. S/He/They will communicate with and responds to input from agency staff, clients, affiliated service providers, and funding sources to ensure appropriate and efficient service delivery within all programs. Familiarity and/or experience with nonprofit organizations and homelessness issues are a MUST.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Program development of mental health and client-serving programs, including program design, policies, and procedures, in coordination with the Executive Director
• Supervision of clinical, community advocacy, and case management staff, including direct supervision of Clinical Supervisors and Clinical Director

Quality Assurance Supervisor

TITLE: Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor

The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is responsible for the quality and completion of clinical charts, the quality and compliance of clinical documentation, the oversight of timely submission of progress notes, assessments and treatment plans, and the accuracy of billing in the Avatar system. The QA Supervisor assists the Clinical Director in determining client eligibility for MediCal/EPSDT services, updates a clinical chart monitoring system, and works with individual clinicians to correct errors, improve quality of documentation and ensure accuracy of data entry. This position also provides up to 8 hours of individual and/or group supervision to pre-licensed staff and trainees.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Ensuring that HCN charts are audit-ready and organized in files
• Running Operations Reports in AVATAR
• Monitoring program productivity
• Holding weekly drop-in assistance times for clinicians who need tutoring in documentation
• Providing training to staff and interns on documentation standards and best practices
• Attending meetings and trainings as required by SFDPH
• Twice per month Program Utilization Review and Quality Control (PURQC) Committee meeting with Quality Associate, and/or Program Director and Clinical Director.
• Ongoing chart review of both paper and electronic records in AVATAR
• Identification of chart errors, requests for correction, monitoring of corrections and final resolution of
